Kathy joined the firm in 2003 with four years’ experience in the workers’ compensation field, both as an attorney and non-attorney. She is experienced in representing employers before the Industrial Commission of Ohio and Bureau of Workers’ Compensation on a wide range of administrative issues, including employer premium disputes and permanent total disability applications. She represents clients before Ohio courts and is experienced in litigating mandamus actions. Additionally, Kathy practices in the areas of employment law and civil litigation.
Prior to becoming a licensed attorney, Kathy was a human resources generalist, during which time she gained practical experience in all aspects of human resources management, including employment and employee benefits matters. She also worked for an actuarial/service company providing workers’ compensation services to Ohio employers, focusing on the administrative hearing process.
Kathy earned her B.B.A. at Kent State University in 1994 and her J.D. at Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, magna cum laude, in 2002. She is a member of the American Bar Association, Ohio State Bar Association and Cleveland Bar Association, the Workers’ Compensation Section of the CBA, and Self-Insurers’ Group of Ohio.
