A Partner with Moscarino & Treu since July 2003, Michael Bertsch (Mike) spearheads the firm's employment law practice. He has a significant range of experience in civil litigation, including workers' compensation common pleas court appeals and mandamus actions, as well as defending employer intentional torts, employment, products liability, and first party insurance matters. His expertise in workers' compensation finds him regularly engaged before the Industrial Commission of Ohio and Bureau of Workers' Compensation representing the interests of self-insured and state-funded employers on issues ranging from claim allowance to safety violations.

Mike was admitted to the Ohio Bar in 1982. He is a member of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association, Ohio Bar Association and Self-Insurers' Group of Ohio. Throughout his years in practice, Mike has shared his considerable expertise among professional associations and organizations through a range of published works and speaking engagements. He has co-authored Quinlan Publishing's Workers' Comp – Ohio and has been a frequent lecturer on employment-related topics.

Mike measures success in satisfied clients and referrals. He believes it is the firm's client- focused, common sense and results-oriented approach that makes the difference in outcomes for the clients we serve.

Mike has lived in the Cleveland area throughout his life. Mike has taught Sunday school to grade schoolers for more than twenty years. Mike is a former member and Board President of the Epilepsy Foundation of Northeastern Ohio.

He resides in Shaker Heights with his wife and three children.
